This course is designed to give the climber who has a basic understanding of belay/climbing commands/techniques and safety a bridge to understanding more complex philosophies, safety, and ethical considerations in rock climbing. Students gain experience with more complex techniques, systems, knots/hitches, and gear associated with climbing, repelling, and anchors, as well as in planning their own outdoor climbing trips. Fee charged. Students evaluated on a Pass/Fail basis.Prerequisite: PED 1250 Introduction to Rock Climbing.
