This course continues the introduction to basic communication in Spanish. Emphasis in on developing socially and culturally appropriate proficiency in interpersonal, interpretive and presentational spheres, with a focus on intercultural awareness. This task-based communicative approach engages students I the local Latinx community through various Service-Learning opportunities that consider the complex challenges of negotiating new places and spaces. Classes are conducted in SpanishCIV: Service-LearningPrerequisite: GBL1520 Spanish I, or at least one year of high school Spanish or the equivalent, and have places into Spanish II through the placement exam
