This course is for students interested in the interaction between plants and the environment. Topics covered include structure and cell physiology, photosynthesis, respiration and metabolism, secondary metabolites, hormones and development, stress physiology, and plant biotechnology. The weekly laboratory for this course involves exercises on plant cell structures, photosynthesis, secondary metabolites, plant hormones, and phytochromes. Prerequisites: BIO 2020 Ecology or BIO 3220 Genetics. These courses may be taken concurrently.
