This course prepares students for the block field education placement. Students review knowledge, skills, and social work values related to generalist social work practice in a field agency setting. Students develop a professional portfolio that includes a resume, reference letters, and examples of written work, as well as a comprehensive reflection of how their education through liberal arts and applied learning has contributed to their knowledge and skills in the practice of social work. Students apply for, interview, and establish an internship arrangement for the following semester. In preparation for their internship, students complete 12 hours of pre-service orienting and acclimating to their field placement agency.Prerequisite: SWK 3200 Engaging the Change Process: Social Work Practice with Individuals and Families and senior standing.
