In this studio course, students explore alternative darkroom processes to create one-of-a-kind moving images and still photographs that play with light. Students explore the material potential of visual media with an expansive view of photography and filmmaking. We experiment with eco-friendly, plant-based silver techniques; play with photochemical methods of image creation; build Super 8 and still photography pinhole cameras; and explore cyanotypes and other expansive forms of light-based image development.
