In this solutions-based course, students will explore the chemical, biological and ecological foundations of key local, regional and global environmental issues of the 21st Century and how scientists, land managers, policy makers and the general public can tackle these together. This lab- and field-based course will use the Warren Wilson College Center for Working Lands as a resource for our understanding of issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and food and water access, along with potential community-based, sustainable and equitable solutions to these complex problems.
