This course covers essential theory and ear training skills used by professional performers, songwriters, composers, and improvisers. We will focus on chord scales, triads, seventh chords, inversions, reharmonization, modes, intervals, treble clef, bass clef, rhythmic and melodic dictation and reading, form, Nashville Number System, creating and reading charts, and connecting theory to practice.
Music Theory and Ear Training is a required course for the music minor and major.
