This course builds on students’ growing development of generalist social work practice skills. Working both independently and as members of small groups, students will apply theories and skills related to the change process (engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation) through our course partnership with Buncombe County Veterans Treatment Court. Attention will be given to multiple dimensions of assessment, including bio-psycho-social-cultural-spiritual. Students will be encouraged to think critically about how systems of privilege and oppression have impacted assessment and other social work practice processes.
