This course is an exploration of social work from an ecological and social systems perspective to understand family, group, organization, and community systems. Special attention is given to the impact of human diversity, discrimination, and oppression in the contexts of families, groups, organizations, and community on individuals' and systems' abilities to reach or maintain optimal health, well being, functioning, and change. Corequisites: SWK 3200 Engaging the Change Process: Social Work Practice with Individuals and Families or permission of instructor.
