This course centers around using data science to address challenges related to environmental sustainability and social justice. Students will choose a topic, together with sufficiently robust datasets, to analyze in depth in their capstone project. Additionally, students will enhance their skills in data visualization and gain proficiency in transforming data into visually captivating and informative interactive dashboards with R-Shiny. These skills will prove valuable not only for their thesis but also for future endeavors. Prerequisite: MAT 2108 Introduction to Data Science and GBL 2250 Introduction to Geographical Information Systems.
