This foundational studio course is an introduction to the visual elements and principles of design that are present in all 2D art. Emphasis in this course is on problem solving, critical understanding of the basic visual elements, and communication in a visual language. Students will be introduced to a variety of materials and processes to develop effective construction methods and safe studio working habits.The course will cover concepts in line, shape, plane, volume, color, value, texture, spatial organization and composition while applying these principles to 2D projects. Course Fee. Co-requisite: ART 1120 3D Design.
